The screw with flanged 5,5mm head in this kit is designed for easy thread froming inside an aluminum beam with a 2,5mm hole. The trilobular head will form thread by deforming the aluminum. Thread is not formed by cutting. For a smooth thread forming process a little grease is crucial. That is why we decided to sell these screws along with a syringe with 2ml grease (SKF LGMT 2).

This set can also be used for MakerBeamXL to add a thread in the hollow core when you have cut the extrusion to length yourself.
