Many projects can be build using the standard lengths, but in case you need specific dimensions, it is currently not possible to order custom lengths for MakerBeamXS.
Luckily, it is very easy to cut the 5mm x 5mm MakerBeamXS to size in your own workshop. Aluminium is a relatively soft material and can be easily cut with any metal cutting blade.
MakerBeamXS can be used with our other profiles. The standoffs, in black or white, are perfect for combining our other beam sizes with MakerBeamXS or add PCB's.
Some years ago we made a few videos on the basics of how to use MakerBeam. For example how to fasten brackets or corner cubes. Time to shed some new light on these videos. They may just give you some good insights and ideas on how to use MakerBeam for your own project.
The Incubot is a 3D printer-based microscope for long-term live cell imaging within a tissue culture incubator and it was brought to our attention by one of our customers. The microscope can be made using MakerBeamXL and other accessible components making it affordable. HardwareX features an article where you can find all the information you want on the project, including a bill of materials.
Pleased to introduce a new product range: MakerBeamXS. We specialise in small aluminium profiles and MakerBeamXS fits right in. It measures 5x5mm in diameter. The beams are anodised in three colours: clear, black and blue.
