Prices in your shopping basket will change
The prices in your shopping basket will change from July 1st 2021. Your own national VAT rate will be applied instead of the Dutch VAT rate (21%). This is because of changes in EU VAT rules. We are located in The Netherlands. VAT rates accross Europe vary. Customers from Luxembourg will pay less, customers from Denmark will pay more.
We also took this opportunity to have a look at our pricing. For years we managed to keep prices the same or even lower them. Now that prices are going up, especially shipping cost, we will adjust our prices accordingly. Only some nuts and bolts will become cheaper.
July 1st there will be change in EU VAT rules for e-commerce. There will be different VAT obligations that come with cross-border transactions in the EU. The main visible change is that consumers will be charged the VAT tariff that is applicable in their country, instead of the VAT tariff applicapble in the country of the supplier. For sales between businesses there will not be much change.
We decided to take this moment of change to also have a look at our pricing. Overall prices have gone up, especially shipping cost. On the other hand we have managed to do better for smaller hardware items. From July 1st the kits, longer lengths and special MakerBeam designs (e.g. corner cubes, T-slot nuts) will go up in price. A number of bolts and nuts will become cheaper.
